Great post Gregor. It sounds like Arencibia has the right attitude about the whole situation. And he definitely made up for it last night with his bat. Do you think they’ll continue with Arencibia catching Dickey moving forward (I know they’ve already slotted Blanco for Dickey’s next start), or was it more to honour JP with being the “opening day catcher”?

I’m at Spring Training in Dunedin. Seen Romero twice and JA Happ twice. From what I’ve seen on performance, Happ has the 5th starter position hands down. I’ve seen both Isturis and Bonifacio. I like Bonifacio’s bat, his potential to steal. Maybe Isturis has better range defensively. What a luxury to have 2 back-up infielders with talent like this. They will be needed in the 162 game season. Bring it on. GO JAYS GO! Dan the man

Sorry to break up the love fest, but, as a proud Canadian, I was upset by Bautista’s comments about Canada’s handling of the game against Mexico. It was about “run differential”, not showing up the other team. He must be familiar with the concept, it’s similar to a soccer tournament. Wonder what he has to say about the conduct of certain Mexico fans, throwing balls and bottles at our players. Stick to playing baseball, not giving us an uninformed opinion.
